 Na pàistì ag baint taitneanh as Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhì ceol, craic agus an-spòrt againn. We had a fun week celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge this week. All the teddy's came to school Thursday for our Picnic Teidì and we had the big ceili mòr sa halla today. Gaeilge was echoing through the corridors of Scoil na Mainistreach all week.

9 DAYS TO GO.... Today we had a very special rehearsal with a VERY special guest...Mr. Paul Mescal. Having starred on stage and in film he had excellent expertise to share with our actors. We thank him very much for giving his time and all the useful guidance and tips that he shared! GAA Coaching for Infants and First Classes kicked off to great excitement today with James from Celbridge GAA Club. Lots of enthusiasm on display. They will have GAA Coaching every Monday from now to June. For children interested, there is coaching available every Saturday morning for ages 3 to 6, from 10am to 11am at Celbridge GAA Club.  As part of Engineers week 2026, our 3rd classes took part in a STEM challenge and heard an inspirational presentation given by Intel Engineers who kindly gave their time to share what’s involved in the role of an Engineer with our children. They then set about the challenge at hand with enthusiasm and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that may inspire a future career in STEM for some of our problem-solvers! Some of our children participated in a photoshoot to promote the Engineer’s Ireland STEPs programme which aims to introduce primary and secondary school pupils to the diverse world of engineering.  Our Students of the Month Awards for February presented by Mr Heffernan at today’s assembly. Work has begun on the beautiful backdrops for our musical, thanks to our super talented 6th class students. Well done guys!  Some of the amazing characters from our favourite books paid a visit to Scoil Na Mainistreach today. The Pupils of the Month for January (Handwriting) were announced today at our February assembly. Some of the key messages learned following our Internet Safety day on Tuesday. Well done to all our 4th Class pupils who took part in the Peace Proms yesterday. Always a highlight of the 4th Class Calendar and this year was no different! The Cast of Lion King 2026. This gallery will be updated as more of the cast is revealed. Well done to all the boys and girls who represented the school in the schools chess tournament today. All the hard work on Monday evenings after school paying off. After reaching the Leinster Final of the Fyffes Fittest School last year, some classes have taken on the Active Schools Active Breaks Challenge this year and are thoroughly enjoying the daily activities along with the daily virtual tour of Croke Park. Our Carol singers trip to Elm Hall Nursing Home has become a fixture in the calendar and is always well received by the residents and staff alike. A workshop in October with Ivanna Yeates of Table Tennis Ireland, followed by 6 weeks of practice in the classrooms and finally a blitz in Confey for some 4th and 5th class boys and girls. Well done to our 6th Classes who raised over €3000 for Celbridge St Vincent de Paul in our annual Christmas Jumble Sale. We had a wonderful Autumn of Football in Scoil N Mainistreach. Our History making first ever Girls team and the boys U11s both made the semi finals of the Cumann na mBunscol. |
